Why choose Chamonix?
Home to Europe’s highest mountain, the Massif de Mont Blanc offers some of the most accessible and breathtaking scenery. (So breathtaking in fact that a layby had to be made for all those passers through who were causing traffic jams by constantly stopping to take photos of our breathtaking Glacias views!)
One of the most famous ski resorts in the world and home to the first winter Olympics, Chamonix has amazing off piste, including the famous Vallée Blanche—one of the longest off piste, glacial, ski runs in the world. (Don’t go without a guide.)
Chamonix is a Mecca for the outdoor enthusiast. In the summer hiking, climbing and mountain biking are hugely popular, but canyoning, rafting and parapenting are also among the long list of sporting options. There is a plethora of fun to be had for every age and ability.
It’s close proximity to Switzerland and just an hours drive to Annecy, Italy and Geneva, makes Chamonix a great base for anyone wishing to explore.
It’s Savoyarde food, French culture and Alpine architecture combine to offer a wonderful mix of French charm and mountain authenticity.
If sports aren’t your thing, then why not enjoy the views instead. Experience the ‘Step into the Void’ glass box suspended over a 1,000m drop, or catch the old train up to explore the Ice Cave in France’s largest glacier.
Visit Chamonix’s historic town where you’ll find a rustic mix of stunning architecture, a lively restaurant, bar & cafe culture, and boutique shops a plenty.
